The Fund operates under the aegis of the King Baudouin Foundation, which assures its management and its tax deductibility of gifts.
The King Baudouin Foundation was established in 1976, on the occasion of the King’s 25th Jubilee, to contribute to continuously improving the living conditions of the people of Belgium and Europe. Later it extended its activities to Africa.
It is one of Europe’s largest foundations, operating in an independent and pluralistic spirit, and supporting in various ways projects and citizens which contribute to its goals.
The Foundation concentrates its work in several areas: health, poverty and social justice; social commitment; education and talent development; cultural heritage; democracy; European cooperation; and African development.
In addition to financial support, the Foundation organizes activities about these themes and publishes reports to ensure a wider distribution of its findings.
